Arterial Doppler Study

Through the use of sound waves, the Arterial Doppler Study produces images and pictures on a monitor for the purposes of evaluating and assessing the arterial blood flow to the upper extremities (arms) and lower extremities (legs). This diagnostic exam searches for evidence of blood flow blockages in the veins or thrombosis (clots). These blockages are usually caused by blood clots that can be dangerous and potentially life threatening if they break loose and travel through the body. The complete study takes 60-90 minutes.
